My much concerned child touches my earring,"Mama, they are hurting you. I'll take them off." After a little effort and failing to undo the clip he continues to exclaim,"Mama, you open it. It's hurting your ear."

For all the concern on his face, I wanted to remove the earrings just to see relief in  those disturbed eyes...
